The 2016 Residential End Uses of Water Executive Report helps answer the question: How is all the water that flows through my water meter being used?  The Water Research Foundation performed a study in 2016 that examines water usage in 23,749 homes around the U.S. and southern Canada.

Toilets are the biggest indoor water-user, accounting for 24% of all indoor water use.  Dishwashers only use 2% of water used indoors. How do other water-using appliances add up?  Click the link below to find out.  Full of great info-graphics, this study may give you new ideas on how to best target conservation in your home to save the most water!

The 2015 Montana State Water Plan was written by the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC), Technical Advisory Committee members, and members of four regional Basin Advisory Councils.  It presents 68 recommendations to guide state water policy and management.  Click the link below to read more.

In 2014, the City of Bozeman conducted a Water Awareness and Conservation Survey to better understand how residents think about and use water in their homes.  The study found that the majority of Bozeman residents (59%) are now paying more attention to their water use than they have in the past.  Sixty percent of residents indicate that they have reduced water use over the past few years.  Concerns about current or future water scarcity and the environmental impacts of water use are the largest factors motivating these changes, but financial motivations (concerns about the cost of water) are also an important consideration for many Bozeman residents.  Find the full study below to learn more.
