The Fall Leaf Cleanup Project was started to keep as many leaves out of the storm drains as possible. When the leaves enter the storm drains, they can plug and then freeze during the winter months, potentially causing damage the drains.
Fall 2019 Leaf Cleanup Project will start in the core area of Bozeman on Monday, October 21st and in the subdivisions on Thursday, October 24th. The cleanup crews will strictly pick up LEAVES PLEASE: NO brush, NO garden waste, NO yard waste in the collection areas.
A small crew will work on Saturday, October 26th, 2019 to pick up and sweep around Emily Dickinson, Hawthorne, Irving, Longfellow, Morning Star, and Whittier Schools. Please pay attention to the NO PARKING STREET MAINT. signs that will be put up around the schools.
The time frame between the leaves falling and the snow flying is usually very short. Please keep in mind the completion of this project is contingent on the weather. The crews that take care of leaf collection are the same crews that plow our streets.
