Updated October 25, 2018 - We have added November 17th to the drop off schedule in addition to October 27th, November 3rd and November 10th. You can bring your leaves to us at the Shop Complex, 814 N. Bozeman Ave. from 10am to 2pm on those Saturdays.
The Fall Leaf Cleanup Project was started to keep as many leaves out of the storm drains as possible. When the leaves enter the storm drains, they can plug and then freeze during the winter months which can damage the drains.
Fall 2018 Leaf Cleanup Project will start in the core area of Bozeman on Monday, October 22nd and in the subdivisions on Thursday, October 25th. The cleanup crews strictly pick up leaves; no brush, garden or yard waste will be collected.
A small crew will work on Saturday October 27th, 2017 to pick up and sweep around Emily Dickenson, Hawthorne, Irving, Longfellow, Morning Star, and Whittier Schools. Please pay attention to the No Parking Maintenance Signs that will be put out around the schools.
There is such a small time frame between the leaves falling from the trees and the snow flying that crews work simultaneously in both areas. Please keep in mind the completion of this project is contingent on the weather, the crews that work the leaf collection are also the crews that plow the streets.
- Watch for street maintenance signs. We'll need you to move your vehicles off the street for a day so we can sweep leaves out of the street
- Rake your leaves into the gutter no sooner than the weekend before the scheduled pickup
- Core Pickup Schedule
- Collect your leaves in paper compostable bags
- Before your scheduled pickup, place your contained leaves on the boulevard
- Subdivision Pickup Schedule
Do It Yourselfers
If you miss your day or want to rake ahead, you can bring leaves to us. A compost truck and roll off dumpsters will be available from 10am to 2pm on three Saturdays, October 27th, November 3rd, and November 10th to accept the leaves at the City Shop Complex at 814 N. Bozeman Ave.
Thanks for helping leave our storm drains clear! If you have any questions regarding this project please feel free to contact the City Shops at 406-582-3202.
