It is my pleasure to present the 2016 annual report on behalf of the men and women of the Bozeman Fire Department. In 2016 the department saw growth in the demands for service with another record number of responses but there was also growth in other areas. The department recorded a new record high in training numbers with over 8,500 hours of training and had 10 members of the department obtain a total of 12 professional credentials via the Center for Public Safety and Excellence.
The Department continues to strive to be the leader in fire service professionalism and innovation while providing excellent customer service to our citizens. As we begin 2017, it will be another busy year for us as we complete the update of our Fire Protections master Plan, complete an audit via the Insurance Service Office (ISO) and begin the formulation of our fire ever strategic plan. The department has many challenges and opportunities to address in the coming year but we have the dedicated staff in place to continue the success of 2016 into the future.
It is an honor to represent the great group of professionals within the Bozeman Fire Departments and to service such a wonderful community that we have here in Bozeman.
Yours in Service,
Fire Chief, Joshua L Waldo, EFO, CFO
