Water Meters

Your water meter is usually located in the basement or crawlspace of your home or building, to read the Neptune radio-frequency meter, city employees simply drive by the home (monthly), or one of the 6 fixed-base receivers (daily). You water usage is read in terms of hundred cubic feet (HCF). There are approximately 750 gallons in one hundred cubic feet.

Examples:

• 1 ERU = $2.93
• Credit on 1 ERU = .45 * $2.93 or ($1.32)
• SFR w/out credit = $6.46/month for stormwater
• SFR w/credit = $5.14/month for stormwater

Delinquent Water Bills

All City utility bills are due by the 15th of each month. A courtesy reminder is sent on the 16th of the month for balances that are more than 45 days past due. If the balance remains unpaid after notification, the water service may be shut off. There is a 1.5% late fee (or $1.00 minimum) on delinquent balances. 

There is a $50 service fee if the property must be notified of water shut off with a door hanger. If your water is shut off due to non-payment, a reconnect fee of $100 during business hours (M-F 8:00 am - 5:00 pm)

The full balance owing, the hang tag service fee, plus any reconnect fees must be paid in full by cash, money order or credit card before water service will be restored. Someone must meet water department personnel at the residence to have the water service restored.
