The following report is an update for the week of November 16, 2025:
City of Bozeman Projects:
Cypress Utility Renovation Project: This project includes water main replacement in Cypress Street from Olive Street to Curtiss Street; in Curtiss Street from Buttonwood Avenue to Highland Boulevard; in Olive Street from Cypress Avenue to McAdow Avenue; and in McAdow Avenue from Olive Street to Curtiss Street.
Sewer replacement in Curtiss Street from McAdow Avenue to Highland Boulevard.
Lining the existing sewer in the alley north of Curtiss Street from McAdow Avenue to near Cypress Street, in the easement east of Cypress Street from the alley mentioned above to Babcock Street, and in the easement east of Cypress Street from Babcock Street to Main Street.
Storm main replacement in Curtiss Street from Aylsworth Avenue to Highland Boulevard.
Work Planned (Week of 11/17/2025)
- Install water main along McAdow Ave. from Olive St. to Curtiss St.
- Prepare Curtiss St. for paving (Aylsworth Ave to McAdow Ave).
- Test Curtiss St. water main and restore normal city water service.

Ferguson and W Babcock Intersection: The intersection of Ferguson Avenue and West Babcock Street will be under construction Monday, 11/17 and possibly extending into Tuesday, 11/18. The work will include directionally drilled underground fiber optic utility placement. During construction, all legs of the traffic signal will be flashing red and onsite flaggers will be directing traffic. Work will begin at 8:30am on Monday. Drivers should expect slight delays at this intersection while the work is taking place.
Other Projects/Closures:
Oak Street from Flanders Mill to Laurel Parkway near the High School: Northwestern Energy will be working on the communication line above the transmission line and completing some finalizing of the distribution under build. They need to use the westbound passing lane on Oak Street from Flanders south Mill to Laurel Parkway. They do not anticipate being at each pole location for very long but will need to close one of the lanes for equipment to be moved along the lines to the next poles. They will monitor the weather and will remove the lane closure when needed due to snow. Things are going good out off Oak Street. They expect to be done Wednesday or Thursday next week and will be taking traffic control down over the weekend.
Lamme and N Tracy: Dick Anderson Construction (Hotel Bozeman) - They do not anticipate any closures for the week.
W Main St and N 5th Ave: Langlas The parking lane along Main St will remain closed for construction of a new hotel. A pedestrian sidewalk has been installed along W Main and is open.
S 11th Ave Sidewalk (MSU): the sidewalk on the east side of S 11th Ave between Lincoln St and Grant St will remain closed during construction of Jones Hall.
122 E Main: Langlas: A pedestrian walkway remains in place for the renovation of the Cooper Black Building.
Yellowstone Fiber is being installed. There are two companies working on this, so there will be an update from each one each week:
Rocky Mountain Contractors: They will be boring and setting handholes.
- Crews will be working in the vicinity of Bridger Drive, Boylan Road, Creekwood Dr, Cree Ln
B Jackson: B Jackson has completed their work for the season.
300 S Cottonwood Road: Sime Construction: Tie in new force main from Norton Lift Station. They will continue to have a lane closure going north on Cottonwood Road north of Babcock Avenue.

2215 Wheat Drive: Northwestern Energy- Relocate gas main. Wheat Drive needs one more week. They are just wrapping it up.
MSU Innovation Campus, Research Dr & Technology Blvd: South Hills Electric –Potholing for directional drilling for MSU. They are still working on this project, hoping to be completed by mid-December.
14th and Juniper: Sage Telecommunications – Fiber installs with potholing to expose utilities. Finishing up on this currently.
811 W Mendenhall: Arco Murray – Construction of a new commercial/multi-family building will begin. 12/1/2025-4/25/2027. This may affect Mendenhall as well as N 8th Ave. Working through permit.
2110 Spring Creek Drive: ND Sitework – Water service upgrade. Road is fully open they just are getting curb formed up today. Hopefully have it poured early next week.
306 N 21st Ave: RLS Construction – Install new water and sewer service. They completed the street cut and asphalt replacement. They need to complete the curb and gutter and new approach to building. Working with Concrete sub and builder to complete this next week.
116 E Main – Langlas: Crane operation 10/10-10/13.
1920 W Babcock St: Firm 5 – Water hook-up for 5-plex development. They have done some base work but haven't shut the road down yet as they have had some delays.
S 4th/S 5th and Arthur/Cleveland: Northwestern Energy - The Northwestern gas crew will be digging into the alleyway connecting Arthur to Cleveland between S. 5th and S. 4th. They will be finishing up for the year this coming week, if they don’t finish out by the end of today. They alleyway will be backfilled and open to residents after 4:30 PM each day.
518 W Hayes: Northwestern Energy: Install new gas service. Will be completed 11/14.
4720 Classical Way: Northwestern Energy Pothole for utilities, to provided electric and gas to Petra Academy
219 19th Ave: Sage Communications: Fiber Install beginning next week.
Kagy and Sourdough Intersection: SK Geotechnical: Monday 12/1/25 and Tuesday 12/2/25, SK Geotechnical is planning to perform 4 soil borings within the MDT right-of-way at E Kagy Blvd and Sourdough Rd. Operating under MDT's encroachment permit for the Combined Safety Projects, this engineering work will include traffic control provided by Mountain West Holding Co, with no lane closures anticipated, as our drilling will be located primarily at the outer four corners. Our drill rig will stay as far off the traffic shoulder as practical but may need to span some curb and/or sidewalk. As the date approaches, we will review utility locates, our precise drill locations, and can keep you informed of our plans.
