Home MenuSnow Plowing Alternate Side Parking Program
The City of Bozeman has launched a Snow Plowing Alternate Side Parking Program to improve plowing operations in the downtown area.
What is the Alternate Side Parking Program?
Heavy snowfall and parked vehicles have made it difficult for City plows to clear the streets effectively during the winter months, creating unsafe conditions. To address this, we’ve launched this program to test a system that, if successful, could be implemented city wide to improve plowing operations. By following an alternate side parking schedule, we believe we can enhance how we move snow and ice.
When is this Program Happening?
Between December 1st and March 31st, residents in the areas highlighted below are asked to move their cars according to the designated schedules marked on the street signs, either:
- 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month
- 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month
What Streets are Affected?
This program will take place only in these areas:
- Select streets between East Juniper St and West Kagy Boulevard
- Select streets between South 15th Avenue and North Broadway Avenue
View the map below of specific streets affected by this program. (All residents on these streets were notified via mail.)
Other Important Details to Know:
- Plowing Start Time: Plows can begin work as early as 7 a.m., so vehicles, including trailers, campers, and boats, need to be moved to the correct side of the street Monday evening.
- Remind Your Neighbors: Please help by encouraging and friendly reminding your neighbors, visitors, and others to move their vehicles.
Thank you to the residents participating in this effort to improve safety and street conditions.
