Use our data dashboard to see information on calls for service, traffic, and crimes. You can filter by various types of incidents or crimes. You can also see this information over time in the Summary Stats.

On the Data

This data comes from our Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Record Management System (RMS). Our information is different from the National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS). The NIBRS accepts information on 52 crimes across 24 offense categories. Montana Board of Crime Control takes law from Montana Code Annotated (MCA) and maps offenses relevant to those 52 crimes. All offenses, both NIBRS-reportable and not, are listed on this dashboard. Additionally, Montana charges inchoate offenses. This means that Montana will charge an individual for a crime that is Solicitated, Conspired or Attempted. We may charge attempted deliberate homicide or attempted rape. NIBRS view both offenses as aggravated assault.

Data you see on each dashboard is updated once every 24 hours. We update this data every 24 hours. We move all location markers to the nearest intersection to protect individual privacy.
