The City of Bozeman has offered quality swim lessons for 80 years!
Swim Lesson Levels:
Parent-Child/Angelfish: For kids ages 18 months through 3 years and a parent or two. Have fun learning how to prepare your child for a lifetime of swimming. Parents will be in the water with their child playing fun games and learning proper holding techniques. A MT Health Code-approved swim diaper is required. *Swim Diapers may be purchased at the Swim Center or Bogert Pool.
Parent-Tot/Angelfish: For kids ages 6 months through 3 years and a parent or two. Have fun learning how to prepare your child for a lifetime of swimming. Parents will be in the water with their child playing fun games and learning proper holding techniques. A MT Health Code-approved swim diaper is required. *Swim Diapers may be purchased at the Swim Center or Bogert Pool.
Preschool/Clownish: For children ages 3 to 4 who can be in a class without needing their parent in the water.
Levels 1-5-Youth Lessons/ Marlins, Dolphins, Sharks, and Whales: For ages 5 and up. Classes are divided based on ability. Please follow the Swim Lesson Flow Chart to determine the best level of class for your swimmer; swimmers must be able to complete all certification requirements to move to the next level (also located in the guide). Please note that swim lesson instructors may transfer students to a different level after assessing their ability.
Level 6- Orca Lifeguard Preparation and Swim Workout: For ages 11-14. This program is geared towards improving endurance and technique with all strokes. Swimmers will also be introduced to basic life-guarding skills and equipment.

Lesson Fees:
- City of Bozeman Residents: $50
- Non-City Residents: $70
Did you know?
Children 14 years and younger must have an adult present at Bogert or the Swim Center to swim (MT Health Code).
Summer Swim Lesson Weather Policy:
Lessons will be held at Bogert Pool if at all possible. Weather temperatures below 50 degrees or a lightning storm will cause the lessons to be cancelled. If lessons are cancelled, a free day pass will be issued for that missed class. You may call Bogert Pool at (406) 582-0806, the Swim center at (406) 582-2294 or check the Parks and Recreation Facebook page to find out if lessons are cancelled.
Program Refund Policy:
If you need to cancel out of a program, notify us 10 days before the first day of the program for a full refund. Household credit will be given if you cancel less than 10 days before the first day of the program.
