Free Car Seat Checks with Bozeman Fire

Bozeman Fire Department offers free car seat inspections year-round to help make every ride a safe one.

Our nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians are here to help—whether you’re installing a new car seat or just want to double-check your current setup.

Car seat checks are available by appointment only. Call (406) 582-2350 to schedule.

What to Expect

During your appointment, we will:

  • Check that your car seat is installed correctly
  • Identify any issues or recalls
  • Ensure the seat is appropriate for your child's age, height and weight
  • Walk you through step-by-step installation and proper use

While our team will do their best to fulfill all appointments, Bozeman Fire's first priority is emergency response.

Please keep in mind that the firefighters are on-duty and may be called out to respond to a fire or other emergency. If you arrive for your appointment and they are not at the station, you may wait a few minutes to see if they return, or you can call our Admin Office to reschedule: (406) 582-2350. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

When your car seat expires or you no longer need it, please recycle it.
