Over the years, the Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) has celebrated Bozeman's rich history and cultural heritage through community events and an annual awards program. From 1994 until 2012, these celebrations were recognized through Historic Preservation Days which have often taken place in the month of May, joining the nationwide celebration of National Preservation Month. Originally established as National Preservation Week in 1973 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the event expanded to a month-long observance in 2005. You can learn more about the history of Preservation Month from the National Trust for Historic Preservation

HPAB has expanded these celebrations to the entire month of May. Stay tuned for event announcements as May approaches. In the meantime, visit our Historic Preservation Awards page to learn more about our annual awards program and how we honor those dedicated to preserving Bozeman's history and cultural heritage.
