Building Permit & Application Extensions

NO WORK MAY BEGIN OR CONTINUE WITHOUT A VALID BUILDING PERMIT ON THE JOB SITE.  Penalty fees may apply if work was completed without a valid permit.
Building Applications will be considered abandoned 180 days after the date of filing the application if permits have not been issued.

In the event your project needs additional time, you may apply for an application extension PRIOR to the expiration date, including justifiable cause for requesting the extension. Once approved, the Application may be extended for a period not to exceed 90 days.

Building Permits expire and are invalid if the work has not commenced within 180 days of permit issuance, or if the work authorized has not received approval of a required inspection within 180 days.

You may apply to extend the permit expiration date by submitting an extension form with justifiable cause PRIOR to the expiration date. Once approved, the Permit may be extended for a period not to exceed 180 days.
