Bozeman Police and Fire will meet again on the ice at Haynes Pavilion (901 N. Black Ave.) on April 3 at 7 p.m. Team members will battle it out in the third annual Frozen Frontline charity hockey game. This friendly competition benefits three local nonprofits that support first responders and the local community.
EverGreen Adventures co-founder Jonathan Stewart founded the event to bring the community together in support of local first responders. Stewart said, “As a chronic illness patient, I’ve called on our frontline workers for their assistance in a number of challenging, health-related situations. As a volunteer hockey coach and avid fan, I wanted to find a way to honor our local professionals for all they do in our community.”
The event is presented by title sponsor Bozeman Health. “We are honored to support our first responder partners,” said Dr. Kathryn Bertany, CEO. “As the only acute care hospital in Bozeman, Bozeman Health’s partnership with Bozeman Police and Bozeman Fire is vital to delivering time-sensitive, life-saving care for our community.”
All proceeds from the game will benefit the Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association, the Bozeman Police Foundation, and the Bozeman Firefighters IAFF L613 Benevolent Fund. The Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association offers scholarships that provide financial assistance to families for youth hockey. The Bozeman Police Foundation fosters public safety through community building, education, and outreach. The Bozeman Firefighters IAFF L613 Benevolent Fund supports public safety, disaster preparedness, and community giving. The three nonprofits will split the proceeds equally.
Stewart added, “The spirited rivalry of Police versus Fire is an exciting way to raise funds and showcase the skills of our first responders on the ice.”
So far, Bozeman Police has taken both trophies, with a 7-3 win over Bozeman Fire in 2024 and a 6-5 win in 2025. The firefighters hope to stake their claim on the ice this year. However, no matter who wins, the game is important for the Bozeman community. Bozeman Police Foundation President Abram Antonucci said, “This exciting event is more than a rivalry—it celebrates the courage, unity, and service of our first responders who protect our community every day. While they stand shoulder-to-shoulder on the job, on the ice they will battle for charity, turning friendly competition into meaningful impact.”
Game entry is donation-based, with a suggested contribution of $5 per person. Cash and card donations will be accepted at the door, and attendees can also make advance online donations at bozemanpolicefoundation.org/how-to-help/. Space is limited and tickets will sell out, so attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a spot.
