Rouse Avenue Project
Rouse Avenue Project Update for the week of October 16
For the week of October 16:
Excavation and storm drain installation have both been completed between Bond Street and Birdie Drive. Road grading, gravel and concrete placement are currently underway with paving taking place this coming week, weather permitting. Crews are also working on installation of curb and sidewalk.
Crews are finishing up installation of curb and gutter near E. Griffin and Bryant. Drivers can anticipate moderate detours and both E. Griffin and Bryant remain closed at Rouse. Area businesses remain open and detours are in place to allow access. Those wishing to access E. Griffin are advised to use Story Mill Road; Bryant can be accessed through Bond Street.
Deck repair work on the bridge spanning the East Gallatin River is underway and will be ongoing. This work includes rail, curb and sidewalk.
Drivers are advised to please plan additional travel time, watch for flaggers and expect travel delays. When possible, please use alternate routes and remember that fines double in work zones.
Access for all businesses and residents adjacent to the project is available.
Crews will work Monday through Friday from approximately 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. For the duration of the Rouse-Oak to Story Mill Road Project, traffic may occasionally be reduced to one lane, which may create short delays, increased traffic, temporary loss of access and detours for adjacent residents and businesses. Drivers are advised to please plan additional travel time, please watch for flaggers and remember that fines do double in work zones.

Headed by general contractor, Knife River, work on the Rouse-Oak / Story Mill Bozeman project is scheduled to restart on Wednesday, April 5, weather permitting.
Construction of this project began on November 16, with minor exploratory excavation and utility location and continued through mid December. The project then shut down for the winter and was scheduled to resume beginning to mid April.
The project will extend on Rouse Avenue from Oak Street north to Story Mill Road and includes multiple improvements, such as widening the road as well as the addition of new bike paths, sidewalks and landscaping. Additionally, Knife River will install a new storm drain system, water system, and sanitary sewer system as part of the project.
The overall goal of the Rouse-Oak / Story Mill Bozeman project is to develop a roadway better suited to meet the needs of the Bozeman community. The anticipated completion date for the Rouse-Oak / Story Mill Bozeman project is October 2017, weather permitting. For the duration the Rouse-Oak / Story Mill Bozeman project, Knife River recommends using alternate routes and encourages drivers to plan additional travel time, especially from 7:00 am to 6pm, as there will be traffic delays during these times.
