A City Service Worker for the City of Bozeman Parks Department performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, construction, and repair of Park and Recreation grounds and facilities. The position includes a variety of tasks including, but not limited to beautifying and maintaining the appearance of Bozeman’s ground and facilities, performing minor repairs to equipment, troubleshooting equipment, operating various equipment, and janitorial tasks to include emptying garbage, cleaning restrooms, stocking, and preparing parks for rentals, events, and general use. The duties of this position are completed under general supervision, but a high level of individual judgment is pertinent.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED; and
- At least 1-3 years-experience in maintenance, construction and repair of park-related grounds, trails and related buildings; and in the operation, service and minor repair of a variety of light and heavy duty equipment, including turf and trail equipment, and general shop equipment; or
- Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of grounds construction and maintenance;
- Irrigation experience is preferred;
- Ability to safely operate light and medium duty equipment (ATV, Bobcat, snow removal equipment, tractors, sprayers, and other various related grounds maintenance equipment);
- Ability to safely work outdoors in extreme temperatures with frequent periods of walking, standing, lifting, kneeling, and bending;
- General computer knowledge;

FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT STATUS: Non-Exempt
WORK WEEK: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Typically Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, but may vary depending on needs of the department
