Upcoming Swim Center Closure

Upcoming Closure

To ensure the highest standards of safety and facility quality, the Swim Center will be closed from June 13–18 for essential maintenance and comprehensive staff training.  We will also be closed on June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

Why We're Closing:

  • Staff Training: Safety is our top priority. During the closure, we are training over 30 lifeguards and water safety instructors, many of them in their first job, to respond to emergencies and deliver high-quality swim instruction. Training includes:
    • Lifeguard Certification:
      • 25 hours in-person
      • 6 hours online
    • Water Safety Instructor Certification:
      • 26 hours in-person
      • 12 hours online
    • Facility Specific Emergency Response Drills (drownings, cardiac emergencies which includes rescue breathing, CPR/AED skills, sudden illnesses, accidents and injuries, spinal emergencies, missing person, first-aid measures, and more), Safety Protocols, Operational Procedures, and Customer Service Training
  • Maintenance: To protect our recent renovation investment and preserve water quality, a partial drain and refill of the pool for maintenance is needed and scheduled for the following days during the closure:
    • Drain: June 13–14
    • Refill: June 15–16
    • Reheat: June 17–18
  • Juneteenth -The Swim Center and Bogert Pools will be closed on June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
