Sanitary Sewer Pre-TV Inspection Requirements

  1. Lines and Manholes must be free of debris and soil ETC… (CLEAN)
  2. Lines must be flushed within 24 hours of inspection.
  3. Lines must be buried and compacted to grade.
  4. Any ponding of water greater or equal to " fails to meet requirements and must be repaired and re-inspected.
  5. Access to all manholes must be maintained for safe access by a two wheel drive TV inspection van.
  6. All RE-TV lines charged at same rate as initial Cost Per Foot (No Free TV Inspection) Current rate is $0.65 Per Foot.
  7. REDO TV inspections will be scheduled on a first come basis.
  8. TV inspection crew will attempt to make contact with a construction crew member on site to leave inspection results. If unable to contact said person, TV crew will attempt to call the construction company upon arrival at the City facilities. If you have not heard from the inspection crew, please do not hesitate to call the City Water and Sewer Department at 582-3200 and request the TV inspection results.
  9. If the TV crew arrives for a scheduled inspection and the contractor has not met the above requirements, the inspection will be re-scheduled on a first come basis after a call has been received from the contractor that the requirements have been met.

"3.3.5 TV Inspections

All sewers are to be inspected using a television camera before final acceptance. All television inspections of new sewers shall be done by the City of Bozeman Sewer Department unless otherwise approved by the Water Sewer Superintendent. Schedule inspections with the Water Sewer Department a minimum of one week in advance. Adequately flush lines prior to each television inspection. TV inspections of dry sewer lines are not acceptable. A sewer line will be considered deficient and unacceptable if:

  1. The alignment is outside the specified limits
  2. Water ponds in any section equal to or greater then a value 2X the grade tolerance specified herein under SECTION 02722.3.1.5
  3. The pipe has visible defects such as open joints, pinched gaskets, cracked barrels or bells, or similar defects. Correct any deficiencies and re-inspect the sewer mains with a television camera.

 3.1.5 Tolerances

Revise as follows: Install the pipe within " of the specified alignment and within " of the specified grade, provided that such variation does not result in a level or reverse sloping invert"
