How long does it take to plow the city following a storm event?
It takes 8 hours to plow the arterials and 8 days to plow residential streets.   

Following a storm event, how long does a property owner have to shovel the side walks?
The property owner has 24 hours following a storm event to shovel the side walks. After 24 hours the property owner is subject to a fine. In the case of snow building up on sidewalks due to delinquency of the property owner, a privet contractor will be contacted by the city to remove the snow/ice and the property owner will be charged for the service.

 

How is the Streets Division funded?
Funds for street maintenance come from the Street Maintenance District, an annual assessment levied on each piece of property located in city limits. Funds from Gas Taxes are used to do major street improvements and maintenance.

 

What do I do with waste oil and antifreeze?
Waste oil and antifreeze can be recycled at the City Shops Complex. 

 

Can synthetic waste oil also be recycled?
Yes, synthetic waste oil can be recycled normally.

 

How do I report a pothole for repair?
The City of Bozeman has a report a pothole line at 406-582-3208.

 

Why don't you lift your plow when you come to my driveway?
On average it takes about 100 feet for a plow to lift after the operator has hit the switch.
