The Update was undertaken in response to the rapid rate of growth and development in the greater Bozeman area.  The previous transportation plan, which was prepared in 1993, laid out a program of transportation improvements to accommodate a growth rate of 1.8% per year.  The City of Bozeman and surrounding area has been increasing more quickly than expected.  As a result of this higher than anticipated growth, it was again necessary to examine the transportation systems serving the Bozeman area.

The Update was adopted by the Transportation Coordinating Committee on May 23, 2000. The Update was adopted by the Bozeman City Commission by Resolution 3490, on October 22, 2001. 

The printed document is now available for public review at the Bozeman Public Library, MSU Renne Library, City of Bozeman Planning Office and Gallatin County Planning Office.
