East Gallatin Pictures
The East Gallatin Recreation Area is a state owned park that is being leased by the City of Bozeman. It was originally called Glen Lake State Recreation Area. The city took over the lease on February 19, 1985. It was opened to the public in 1988 after many improvements were made. Amenities include a large pond, a sand beach, picnic shelters, a fishing platform, 2 horseshoe pits, a playground, and 2 sand volleyball courts. While visiting you may see animals such as deer, geese, osprey, and bald eagles.
Dogs are not allowed in the park. The pond is off limits to motorized water craft, but kayaks, rafts, canoes, ect., are allowed.
Future planned improvements to the park include new restrooms to replace to concrete outhouses and an expansion of the beach.
