Soon lakes, parks and city streets will be full of people celebrating Independence Day and the upcoming holiday week. Local law enforcement agencies including the Bozeman Police Department, Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office and Montana Highway Patrol will ramp up patrols through the Fourth of July weekend until July 5. The effort is part of the Montana Department of Transportation’s “Vision Zero” initiative to eliminate death and serious injury on Montana roads. Vision Zero is a program of high-visibility enforcement, education, safe engineering of roadways and emergency medical response to support working together to eliminate deaths and injuries on Montana roadways.
