Hazard Waste Disposal

 

Hazardous waste includes paint, motor oil, solvents, automotive and rechargeable batteries, electronic equipment, antifreeze, gasoline, paint thinners, used motor oils, cleaners and asbestos.  These materials can have a serious effect on the environment and our water sources if not disposed of correctly and it is illegal to dispose of such waste in the Municipal Landfill (BMC 8.13.060).  The Solid Waste Division is happy to answer questions about disposing of hazardous materials and produces brochures to help citizens keep our community and environment healthy.
