Garbage & Recycling

All residential households are required to obtain solid waste collection services (BMC 8.16.015).  These services are offered by the City and private companies.  Residents/property owners using the City's services receive pick-up of compost, tree branches and brush with their weekly services May-September.   Those using a private company may bring their organic materials to the landfill at no charge.

Recycling saves landfill space, raw materials and the environment!  Bozeman has several private companies offering residential and business pick-up of recyclables and the City provides many drop-off stations for citizens to recycle free of charge.  The City currently recycles aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles (opening must be smaller than base), newspaper, cardboard and magazines.  It is costly to the City and illegal to dispose of trash in recycle bins (BMC 8.13.065).

Do your part to help keep Bozeman a healthy community!
