Garbage that does not fit in your tote will not be picked up if it is sitting outside on the ground unless you purchase a garbage tag for it.  Garbage tags can be bought at the Safeway grocery store on West Main St. or at City Hall at 411 E Main St. for $1.50 or $1.81 depending on the number of gallons or pounds of extra garbage.  Attach the tags to your extra, bagged garbage and leave by your tote on your normally scheduled day.  If you have items such as mattresses, TVs, etc. you may also use tags to have them picked up, however you may have to buy multiple tags depending on the weight of the item.  You may also schedule a special garbage pickup with the City Sanitation Department at 582-3200.
