Human Resources

The City of Bozeman Human Resource office provides programs, consultation, information and options that support and empower managers, in order to attract, train, motivate, retain, and reward a workforce which can provide efficient, cost effective services to the citizens.

The City has a centralized personnel system covering 300+ full-time employees and provides services to the City Commission, all city departments, many boards and committees. The Human Resource Division, consisting of two employees, provides recruitment of employees; records management on current and former employees; development and administration of the personnel classification system, personnel policies, employee benefits and position descriptions; labor negotiations; interpretation and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements; employee grievances mediation; administration of the City's Drug & Alcohol Testing Policy, and employee workers' compensation.
