NORTHWOOD RED MAPLE (Acer rubrm 'Northwood') A nice shade tree for larger areas, the Northwood exhibits a rounded oval crown with branches ascending at a 45 degree angle. Selected from a native seedling population in Minnesota, it is adaptable to a rigorous climate. Fall colors go from yellow to orange and red.

Mature height 40-50 ft.

REGAL PRINCE OAK HYBRID (Quercus robur x bicolor) An improved version of columnar oaks, this introduction has a stronger branch structure and is consistently fuller than other columnar oak varieties. It begins to reach it's width potential with age. Leaves are a glossy green on top with a softer lighter green on the bottom, creating a nice two-tone contrast.

Mature height 40-50 ft., width 18 ft. in 20 years.

NORTHERN PIN OAK (Quercus ellipsoidalis) A hardy version of the popular Pin Oak, this selection is one of the slower-growing oaks. Fuzzy pink new leaves turn to a glossy green in summer, and then to a scarlet red in fall. Not tolerant of shade or high pH soils.

Mature height 50-75 ft.

SHADEMASTER HONEYLOCUST (Gleditsia triacanthos 'Shademaster') A large tree with a delicate and sophisticated silhouette, this thornless and virtually podless variety is a strong grower. Small, bipinnately compound leaves provide filtered shade, and turn to a yellow fall color.

Mature height 60-75 ft.

JAPANESE TREE LILAC (Syringa reticulata 'Ivory Silk') Possibly the most trouble-free lilac, this small tree variety exhibits a somewhat oval to rounded crown, developing with time into a more graceful, arching form. Large, creamy-white spring flowers are showy and very fragrant. Due to its smaller size at maturity, this is an ideal selection for use under power lines and in confined spaces.

Mature height 20-30 ft.

TRIUMPH ELM HYBRID (Ulmus x 'Morton Glossy') Introduced from the elm improvement program at Morton Arboretum in Illinois, this hybrid is known to be resistant to Dutch Elm Disease and elm leaf beetle. It was selected for its upright form, fast growth rate, and environmental tolerances.

Mature height 45-65 ft.
