Fire Prevention

The Bozeman Fire Department works closely with the School District to provide innovative and relevant life safety education to all kindergarten through 5th grade students in the Bozeman School District. Firefighters also provide fire extinguisher training for businesses and their employees as well as assist them develop solid emergency plans to protect their investments, employees and customers.

FIRE CODE COMPLIANCE

The Bozeman Fire Department prevention bureau consists of the Fire Marshal and one (1) Life-Safety Specialists. The Fire and Life-Safety Specialists are funded through building permit fees and help ensure new construction meets the minimum life-safety requirements of the Fire and Building Codes.

OPEN BURNING AND PERMITS

Open burning is allowed with in the City of Bozeman by permit. Permits are available at Fire Station #1 Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Permits are available to city residents only and open burring is allowed March 1st to November 30th.
