Liquor Licenses


Beer, Wine & Liquor Licensing

Anyone who manufactures or sells alcohol in the in the city must, under the provisions of the Montana Alcoholic Beverage Code, procure a license to do so from the city. Application for a city license shall be made to the city commission on a form to be provided by the director of finance. Separate licenses shall be required for the sale of beer, wine and liquor.

Form of City License

Licenses issued under the provisions of chapters 5.12 & 5.52 must be prominently posted in the business and will contain, at a minimum, the following information:

  • The licensee's name and the business' name and address;

  • The purpose for the license;

  • The expiration date of the license; and

  • The minute book and page number containing the commission's approval.

 

Fees

  • Beer License $200.00 annually
  • Retail Wine License $200.00 annually
  • Full Liquor License $500.00 annually
 

Special Permits

Applications for a special permit shall be granted by the city commission only upon the organization acquiring a special permit from the state of Montana as provided in the Montana Alcoholic Beverage Code. The applicant must specify the location and nature of the event and the period it is scheduled to be held.
