BOARD OF APPEALS MEMBER NEEDED:

The Citizen Advisory Board of Appeals was established to determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation of the following codes of the City: Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing.

This Board is currently seeking a citizen to volunteer to be a member of this board.

DEMOLITION PERMITS FOR FOUNDATIONS

Effective October 20, 2008 - When a House is being lifted off its foundation to dig a basement or to repair the foundation, a “Demolition Permit” will be required. Please apply to the Building Department for the Demolition Permit.

ELECTRICAL, ROOF, PLUMBING, MECHNICAL, and SUB-CONTRACTORS:

ATTENTION CONTRACTORS

Please bring your bid sheets to the Building Department when you are picking up permits so that we can verify the job address, the scope of work, and the correct valuation. Thank you.

Storm Damaged Roof Requirements:

Attention ROOFERS:

  • Permits are required;
  • Underlayment required (per IRC R905.1)
  • Flashing/Drip edge required (per IRC R905.2.8)
  • Ice Barrier required from roof eave to a point of at least 24" inside the exterior wall of the building (per IRC R905.2.7.1)

Plan Review Fees are due and payable when submitting an application and plans for a building permit.

Plan Permits Expire in 180 Days

Please be reminded that approved plan permits expire 180 days after approval for issue. If you don't pick up your plans within that 180 days or request an extension, the plans will be discarded and removed from the systems. If you don't pick up the plans within the 180 day period and do request an extension the impact fees will be re-assessed by the Planning Department to reflect any changes in the impact fees currently in effect.
