Position: Water Reclamation Facility Superintendent
Wage/Salary: $74,902 - $82,310/year depending on experience and qualifications
 
Bargaining Unit: None
Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Exempt
Work Week: Full-time, 40 hours/week.  Typically M-F 8am-5pm

POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, organizes, and directs the overall operation and maintenance activities of the City’s Water Reclamation Facility.  Performs other directly related work as required including ensuring that the facility complies with all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) regulations. Work varies, requiring significant individual judgment within prescribed standards and procedures.  The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Director of Public Works, City Engineer and engineering staff, City Manager, City Commission and other City officials, other City employees, regulatory agencies and the general public by participating in necessary meetings and activities.
 
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a closely related field, and
  • Extensive (7 or more years) increasingly responsible experience in wastewater treatment plant operations; and
  • Considerable (4 to 6 years) of supervisory experience; or
  • Any combination of education, experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

REQUIRED SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Possession of Class 1C WWTP Operators Certification;
  • Valid driver’s license (must obtain valid Montana Driver’s License within 60 days of employment);
  • Must sign a City Financial Disclosure form upon entry into employment;
