Dutch Elm Disease

Dutch elm disease in American Elm TreeDutch Elm Disease has been responsible for the loss of a great number of American Elm trees across the country over the past 80 years. It was positively identified in Livingston in the summer of 2006 by personnel from this department and Nina Zidack of the MSU Diagnostics Lab. Only one isolated case has been found in Bozeman. If you have any questions about trees in your neighborhood please contact us or your county extension agent. We want people to be aware of this disease and its symptoms, so we are providing the following link for more information.
