Lateral Police Officer/Entry-Level Police Officer Opportunities
Employment offers are conditional based upon satisfactory responses to job-related medical, hearing, vision, psychological examinations, an extensive background investigation, and possibly a drug test. To Apply:

Other Information:
The lateral officer process is scheduled to be held in Bozeman, MT the week of February 27, 2012. If you are from out of state, plan on being in Bozeman the entire week of February 27th to complete all of the testing.
Testing will consist of the following:
• Written exam – February 27, 2012 (morning) • Montana Physical Abilities Test – February 27, 2012 (morning) • Interview for candidates who successfully pass the written AND physical abilities exams – February 27, 2012 (afternoon) and if needed, February 28, 2012 • Chief’s Interview – February 28, 2012 and if needed, February 29, 2012
Visit http://www.mtletc.org/?p=about for information on the written and physical abilities tests. (You do not need to register for the MTLETC testing. The Bozeman Police Department will be using the same tests as the MTLETC).
Candidates who successfully pass the four above phases may be offered a conditional job. The background process and psychological testing has been scheduled to begin on March 1st and/or March 2nd, 2012.
IMPORTANT: If you are currently on the MTLETC eligibility list, and you are a certified police officer, you will not be required to take the written test in Bozeman on February 27th. However, you may be required to be in Bozeman on February 27th for an interview.
To avoid repeated trips by lateral-level applicants to test with our agency, you will only be required to come to Bozeman, MT the week of February 27th for the testing process. If offered a condition of employment, we will schedule all medical appointments to be conducted in the applicant's home town.
Entry-Level Officer Hiring Process: (NO VACANCIE AT THIS TIME) Thank you for your interest in the Bozeman Police Department. The Bozeman Police Department is a member of the Montana Law Enforcement Testing Consortium (www.mtletc.org). The Montana Law Enforcement Testing Consortium administers a written test and physical abilities test in order to create a pool of candidates for the position of entry-level police officer with our department. Lateral-level officers do not test through the MTLETC to be considered for employment with the Bozeman Police Department. This may not apply to other agencies within the MTLETC.
