What information is in a public notice?
Each public notice will include essential information to help the reader have enough information to be aware of what is proposed. Some notices are required by state law and some are established locally. Article 38.40 of the muncipal code specifies the contents of the notice. Contents of a notice are:
Why are public notices given?
Montana values the opportunity to be involved in the decision making process and to know what local governments are doing. Public notices allow an opportunity for people to be aware of proposals that may affect them and to allow them a chance to give comment on concerns they may have about a development proposal.
