Final decisions made by staff in administering Title 18, Unified Development Ordinance, Bozeman Municipal Code (BMC) may be be appealed to the City Commission. Appeals may be made from either interpretation of ordinance or decisions to approve or deny an application. In order to appeal a person must demonstrate that they are 'aggrieved' as defined in Section 18.80.070, BMC. An appeal places a hold on the execution of a project until the appeal is resolved. 

Project decision appeal procedures are described in Section 18.66.030, BMC. A notice of intent to appeal must be given to the City Clerk within 4 business days of the date of the decision being appealed. The formal appeal documentation and fee must be submitted within 7 business days.

Interpretations of code appeal procedures are described in Section 18.66.040, BMC. The formal appeal documentation and fee must be submitted to the City Clerk within 30 calendar days of the date of the interpretation being appealed.
