  The law department prosecutes misdemeanor criminal offenses of the Bozeman Municipal Code and state law criminal and traffic offenses.  Because Montana State University lies within the city's jurisdiction any criminal offenses in which the defendant is cited by Montana State University Police are also prosecuted by the City Attorney's Office.
