I didn’t know my driver’s license was suspended! What do I do?
Drivers’ licenses are suspended for various reasons. The most common reasons are for failure to pay child support, not paying a court fine, or for failure to pay the reinstatement fee after a license has been suspended. If you have a suspended license and don’t know why, please contact the state where your license was issued and ask the reason for the suspension and what you need to do to have your license reinstated.
The judge suggested I contact your office about the citation I received.
We believe the judges make this recommendation because they believe there are unusual circumstances surrounding your citation. Most often the judge will ask you to see us if you were cited for expired registration or a citation for some type of driver’s license issue, i.e. your license is suspended or revoked.
If the judge has asked you to contact us, please do. However, you will need to bring all of your documentation with you. For example, if you are contesting an expired registration citation, then you will need to bring us proof that you have paid the registration.
