Building Division Board of Appeals

This Board currently has two vacancies and two vacancies for alternate positions.

Purpose / Creation:

The Board of Appeals determines the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and to provide reasonable interpretation of the following codes of the City of Bozeman building code, electrical code, mechanical code, and plumbing code.

The Board of Appeals was established under Resolution No. 2483, adopted in October 1983.

Liaisons:

The City Commission liaison for this board is Chris Mehl. Bob Risk, the Acting Building Official, is an ex-officio member and Secretary of the Board.

Membership:

The BOA shall consist of five members with staggered three year appointments appointed by the Commission who are qualified by experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction.
