Positions for Volunteer Citizen Advisory Board Members

The City of Bozeman elected officials and staff believe in the value of public participation and local governance in the process of decision-making.  They rely on the advice of over 275 volunteer citizen board members serving on more than thirty Advisory Boards and Task Forces.  These unpaid volunteers provide a critical connection to the community and the values and concerns of residents.  If you are passionate or concerned about a specific area - join an advisory board or attend a relevant meeting and make your voice heard. The Bozeman City Charter written by the people and voted in by the people in 2008 requires annual ethics training for all employees, elected and appointed officials. The ethics training is provided to new board members online shortly after appointment. This short, free course helps members understand the basics of the city ethics code. Then yearly another more in depth training is provided to all board members. By applying for a board, you are acknowledging that you understand this training will be mandatory and you are agreeing to take this training. Thank you!
